Executive Assistant to the Chief Rabbi
This Executive Assistant role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a historic non-profit religious institution. The selected candidate will work closely with the Chief Rabbi, providing the highest level of administrative support, including assisting with correspondence, calendar management, and other tasks as needed.
We’re seeking a high-energy, dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, is highly organized with strong attention to detail, and possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience supporting a senior executive is strongly preferred.
This role is full-time and on-site in Manhattan. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. A catered lunch is provided daily.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Chief Rabbi, with a strong focus on typing dictated professional and personal correspondence
- Manage and maintain the Chief Rabbi's calendar and appointments
- Answer phone calls and serve as a point of contact for the Chief Rabbi internally and externally
- Organize and maintain paper and electronic files, including personal logins and sensitive account data
- Make updates to internal and external communication touchpoints for the institution
- Liaise with various media outlets
- Meet and greet VIP guests and arrange meetings in the office
- Work cross-functionally to assist with event coordination and other projects
Required Qualifications:
- Typing speed of 85+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- BA/BS or equivalent degree required
- At least 2 years of experience in an EA administrative capacity in a similar institution
- Strong command of software platforms including:
- Zoom
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive)
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, friendly demeanor
- Self-motivated and proactive self-starter
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
- Strong judgment and high level of discretion with sensitive information
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to anticipate needs
- Adaptable to quickly changing priorities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience supporting a senior executive
- Working knowledge of WordPress and MailChimp platforms
- Social Media management experience
- Knowledge of Judaism is a plus
Job Details:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: $55,000 - $72,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
